When it comes to NBN plans, not everyone has the same needs. While some people need the fastest possible internet connection, others will opt for more affordable NBN plans. If you’re looking for an NBN and don’t feel like you’re paying more than you need, we’ve rounded up the cheapest entry-level NBN plans currently available.

What paying $60 a month can get you when it comes to NBN plans.

Best NBN plans under $60 a month

Cheapest NBN 25 plans

If you’re looking for a more affordable NBN plan, you’ll usually have to make a compromise or two. The easiest way to lower your monthly bill is to opt for slower download speeds, so we’re starting with the NBN 25 plan.

In terms of the cheapest options available, SpinTel It will get you unlimited data and typical nightly speeds of 20Mbps for $44 per month for the first six months, then $49.95 per month thereafter. While this plan is slower, it’s a good option if you’re prepared to pay less than $50 for an Internet connection.

If you’re looking for a cheaper NBN plan without the added steps of this post-deal, Tangerine Currently have one of the cheapest unlimited NBN 25 plans. You’ll pay $44.90 per month for the first six months, and $59.90 per month thereafter. Tangerine’s plans are all contract-free, so you can always leave as soon as your discount runs out.

Exeter A similar introductory offer is also available for new customers, paying $53.95 per month for the first six months and $64.95 per month thereafter. As far as nighttime speeds go, Exetel reported speeds of 25Mbps.

If you’re looking for a plan with no limited-time discounts, Australian Broadband There’s an NBN 25 option for $60 a month with typical nightly speeds of 24Mbps.

Cheapest NBN 50 plan

If you’re looking for an NBN 50 plan under $60 per month, there aren’t many providers to choose from. In any case, these plans only sneak below the threshold as the promotional prices expire after your first six months. However, in most cases, these plans are contract-free, so you’re free to switch to another provider once the discount runs out.

dodo bird The cheapest plan is $53.85 per month for the first six months. However, Dodo’s plan will bump up to $75 per month after the promotional period ends. For this price, you can buy a discounted NBN 100 plan.

Exeter A similar introductory offer is currently running, where you’ll only pay $53.95 per month for the first six months, and $74.95 per month thereafter.

SpinTel One of the cheapest options for the NBN 50 plan – either discounted or full price. They’ll bill you $54 per month for the first six months, and $64.95 per month thereafter. It’s pretty much the cheapest NBN 50 plan when you exclude discounts, and is great value in the long run.

Tangerine Also a good option for cheaper plans. You’ll pay $54.90 per month for the first six months, then $69.90 per month thereafter. Like Tangerine’s NBN 25 product, the plan comes with a 14-day risk-free trial period.

All of these providers reported typical nighttime speeds of 50Mbps, making all of these NBN plans ostensibly congestion-free.
